In most cases, cardholders will only attempt to initiate a chargeback. This would make the chargeback stage an area where the first win rate is the final win rate.
However, some cardholders may file for pre-arbitration (or even for arbitration). This presents at least one new stage for analysts to calculate their win rate.
A "final" win rate simply focuses on measuring your team's success rate in winning against disputes that move beyond the chargeback stage, such as pre-arbitration.
How you interpret and utilize the final win rate will usually depend on these questions:
- If your team regularly challenges disputes in pre-arbitration, what is their win rate in this dispute stage?
- How does that compare to their win rate from disputes that only reached the chargeback stage?
